My name is Chris and I love CAKE!!!  I started my baking career as a young girl.  I was always in the kitchen baking up something.  My love for decorating cakes began with my first job in high school at Baskin Robbins.  I have made cakes off and on through the years and have finally decided to make a business out of it.  For me, the best part, is seeing the child or grown-ups face when they see their cake and they smile because it is just what they wanted.  All my cakes, cupcakes and other desserts are homemade with love.

My baking philosophy is that a cake can look good but if it doesn't taste good, then what is the point.  I want to eat moist cake and buttercream with real butter so that is what I make for my clients.  I love trying new designs and recipes.

 

You might be wondering where I came up with the name for my business.  I felt it was only fitting to name it after my amazing grandmother, who never knew a stranger and could cook like no one else.  My grandmother’s name was Helen but everyone called her Shug (pronounced shoog).  She was the hostess with the mostess and I learned so much from her.  She is my inspiration and even though she is gone, she is with me in everything that I do.
